How to use it

Turn area and depth into a working estimate

The calculator helps you size an order before you call. It does not replace a quote — it gives you a starting number so the yard can confirm product, truck type, and timing.

1. Choose the material

Pick mulch, soil, sand, gravel, river rock, or pebbles — whichever matches what you plan to buy from the catalog.

2. Enter area and depth

Measure length and width of the space, then enter the depth you want. Irregular beds can be split into rectangles and added together.

3. Review the result

Use the estimate when you request a quote. Mention access notes if you need dump truck or flatbed delivery.

Tips

Make the estimate more useful on real jobs

  • Add a little extra for waste, odd edges, and compaction — especially on paths and driveway bases.
  • Wet soil and mulch weigh more; soft ground may need a curb dump instead of a lawn drop.
  • Stone that should not be dumped loose still needs a volume or pallet count — the calculator helps with bulk coverage, then we match the truck.
  • Mixed projects (base plus flagstone) often need two delivery methods; list every product on the quote.

Browse the catalog, then request a quote or call (469) 972-8818.

FAQ

Material calculator questions

Why does the calculator look empty until I enter numbers?

That is intentional. Results appear after you choose a material and enter length, width, and depth. Blank fields mean there is nothing to calculate yet.

Is the estimate exact?

It is a planning estimate based on area and depth. Real yards can vary with compaction, waste, irregular shapes, and how wet the material is. Confirm with the yard before you order.

Should I order mulch, soil, and gravel the same way?

Use the calculator for volume planning, then tell us the product name when you quote. Dump truck delivery usually handles loose bulk; slabs and pavers typically need flatbed delivery.

What depth should I use?

It depends on the job — beds, paths, and driveway bases differ. If you are unsure, share the project type when you request a quote and we can help sanity-check the depth.

Can I pick up instead of delivery?

Yes. Pickup is available at our McKinney yard during business hours. Call ahead if you need to confirm stock or loading help.

Ready to turn the estimate into an order?

Share the product, quantity, and delivery city — we’ll confirm stock and the right truck.
